Funding available to support Leads deliver high quality network meetings –
The next Subject Network meeting for HEP Secondaries is on Tuesday 8th February, 4-6pm.
Leads are maximising the opportunity to begin face-to-face meetings where appropriate (while offering a virtual option to ensure inclusivity), and using that time to moderate and assess, widening participation to other teachers within their departments.
Here is a taster of what some networks will look like:
Geography colleagues will hear from Bethan Davies, external speaker from Royal Holloway, who will run a glaciation subject knowledge enhancement session for us. As a glacial geologist, she is interested in the interaction between glaciers and climate over multiple timescales specialising in ice-sheet and glacier reconstruction in temperate and high latitudes.
History colleagues will focus on identifying the great diverse teaching already happening in Hounslow. They will look to next steps and opportunities to further diversify curricula.
Thank you to those Leads for organising outside speakers, having ascertained what the specific needs are within HEP schools and accessing the funding available. There is a budget available to all Leads to apply for in order to secure CPD, expert speakers and training for those within their network.
HEP is on hand to support the delivery, with any behind the scenes logistics to take the pressure off those Leads and boost the reach of that training.
