Mental Health Awareness Week and free online workshop – 

HEP would like to share the following information from the Young Gamers and Gambling Education Trust (YGAM).

Mental Health Awareness Week is on 9th – 15th May. Here is some information about fully-funded training and resources for school staff.

We wanted to invite you to a fully-funded online workshop on the topic of gaming and gambling harm prevention on Wednesday 27th April 2022 to provide you with free resources in readiness for the annual awareness raising week.

You will also earn a City & Guilds certificate on completion.

Our fully-funded workshop will cover:

  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • An overview of how young people are increasingly exposed to gaming and gambling and the increasingly blurred lines between the two.
  • The influence of advertising, particularly around sporting events.
  • The role of social media, in game purchases, loot boxes and Esports.
  • Gaming and gambling related harm and how to spot the signs
  • Where to get help and support

The training is open to:

  • Safeguarding staff
  • Teachers
  • Wellbeing staff
  • Support staff
  • Pastoral team
  • Headteachers
  • Any staff member who may have direct contact or deliver to students

The online workshop will be held on Wednesday 27th April 2022 from 3:45-5:45pm.
