Opportunity for one primary school to work with the National Portrait Gallery –

HEP would like to share an exciting free opportunity with primary schools.

As part of the University of West London’s work with National Portrait Gallery’s People Powered: Heathrow, we have one spot for a local primary school to take up the final place on the programme – we would love for a Hounslow Primary to take this, and think this would make a wonderful end of term activity.

This consists of:

  • A workshop day led by artist Jessica McDermott in a primary school – over 1 day Jessica will deliver 2-3 workshops working with a different class each session (see workshop information below). We can offer 13 July or dates during the following week
  • An online teachers CPD session on Wednesday 29 June 15.45-17.15 including an intro to the People Powered: Heathrow portraits, resource and practical activities
  • A resource for participating schools to continue to use that connects to art and local history curriculum and offers activities that can be incorporated into classes
  • An invitation for students and their families to visit the related display at the University of West London from 19 July when it opens to the public

The Teacher CPD session for Heathrow schools will take place on:

Wednesday 29 June 3:45-5:15pm, online on MS Teams.

Up to ten members of staff per school can attend.

The session will be recorded if your school is unable to join for the after school session.
