Learning to Respect supports White Ribbon day & days of activism –

Poster competition - calling all budding artists & campaigners – we need your ideas.

White Ribbon Day is on 25th November this year.

The Learning to Respect programme in Hounslow promotes Healthy Relationship education in all schools and other children and young people’s settings.

We are putting a call out for budding artists and campaigners to design a poster to promote Healthy Relationships.

The aim is to promote Healthy Friendships/Relationships and the skills needed to enjoy them, including:

  • Resolving conflict in a positive manner.
  • Promoting skills of negotiation
  • Identifying abusive behaviour
  • Building self-esteem and confidence
  • Making healthier choices

Here's what you need to do

  • Design an A4 poster
  • The slogan “Learning to Respect” needs to be on the poster
  • Make it bold, beautiful and eye-catching
  • Students need to showcase their thoughts and views on healthy relationships

  • The competition is open to all, KS1-KS5
  • There will be prizes and we aim to create a display at Hounslow House during the White Ribbon Days of Action

How to enter

  • Please send a scan of the poster together with name, year group and school to Harprit Sekhon  & Dorita Fernandes

White Ribbon is a movement that raises awareness of male violence, abuse and harassment of women and girls whilst it simultaneously challenges social norms that support stereotypes of masculinity as tough, emotionless, and aggressive, whilst women are weak and too emotional.

White Ribbon promotes and runs campaigns to raise awareness around male violence and abuse against women and girls. The aim of White Ribbon is to encourage men and boys to take responsibility for and think about their, and others’ actions, to promote equality and respect, and to call out sexist behaviour when they see it.
