Deep Dive Training

 Ofsted Deep Dive Training

In March 2022 the Technology Subject Network invited Amanda Davighi to speak about the new Ofsted framework and deep dive preparation to colleagues. The recording of this session, available by clicking the button above, is relevant to all curriculum leads and Heads of Department in terms of Ofsted preparation. The session was devised using feedback from schools who have recently been inspected and includes details pertinent to preparing for Ofsted as well as good practice in terms of department development and reviewing curriculum provision.

Subject Networks

Subject networks have been established to assist the development of subject teaching in Hounslow whilst supporting CPD of middle leaders.

The network aims to:

  • Develop professional relationships between colleagues from different schools which facilitates ongoing peer support
  • Support subject leads in keeping up-to-date with emerging policy and consider, with their subject colleagues, the implications for strategy and practice
  • Facilitate sharing and development of good practice related to subject teaching, learning and assessment
  • Provide a mechanism for efficient and effective consultation and information flow between subject leads and the wider HEP

Ofsted and Curriculum Review April 2021

Ofsted has published the second in a series of reviews into different subjects across the curriculum.

Ofsted says - ‘This is only the start of our work in this area, though. As a force for improvement, we will be publishing a series of documents from April 2021, including:
Research reviews – these will collate currently available research evidence. We will consider what published research evidence tells us about a high-quality education in each subject
Subject reports – we will inform leaders, teachers and tutors, parents and policymakers about what we have learned about the state of the nation when it comes to the quality of school curriculum in a range of subjects
To carry out this work and lead on our curriculum thinking in schools, we have set up a curriculum unit. We have been recruiting subject leads for a range of subjects, starting with national curriculum subjects and religious education. These subject experts will be leading this work, along with our research team.’
