Leadership training – Supporting Information
Jon Frostick has had 31 rewarding years in education. Having witnessed exceptional leadership first-hand within an Inner London primary school, he went through various promotions before being appointed Headteacher of the Blue School in 1996. During his 22-year headship, he moved the Blue School from a school causing concern to a locally and nationally recognised centre of excellence. The school secured an Outstanding judgment consistently in all areas, and Ofsted stated, ‘…this is an excellent school with many superb features that is led and managed exceptionally well by an outstanding Headteacher.’ Coaching and mentoring many staff to senior positions, including those of Headship and Deputy Headship, has brought Jon considerable professional satisfaction. Jon’s desire to inspire the leaders of tomorrow that has led to a successful training partnership with John Shannon and which now operates across many London boroughs.
John Shannon began his teaching career in 1987 at an inner London junior school and became a Headteacher in Tower Hamlets in 1997. Within this role, he learned how to lead as well as manage, how to build relationships with the whole school community and most importantly, how to maintain a focus on the learning taking place in the classroom every day. In 2007, he was appointed as a school improvement adviser for the London Diocesan Board for Schools and responsible for 38 schools across five London boroughs. Within this role, John witnessed outstanding leadership and inspirational Headteachers and helped many more improve. In 2011, John returned to headship in Newham culminating in an outstanding Ofsted judgement for Leadership and Management in 2016. Since then, he has been working with Jon Frostick providing leadership training for Headteachers, Middle Leaders and Senior Leaders across London. In Hounslow to date they have delivered training to 88 school leaders with an outstanding rating of 97%.
