Primary ‘Reading for Pleasure’ project has launched! –
HEP is delighted to share news that over 180 teachers across 35 of our primary schools have signed up for Get Hounslow Reading.
The first two workshops for EYs/KS1 and LKS2 took place last week where teachers were introduced to the expectations of the programme which will be run every half term during 2021/22. During the sessions led by Charlotte Raby, teachers signed up for the newsletters and websites that will feature throughout the programme and they were all set a reading challenge to complete over the summer.
The final two introductory workshops will take place next week as follows:
- UKS2 Reading for Pleasure (RfP) – Tuesday 15th June, 1:30-3:30pm, via Zoom
- Contingent Talk for EYs and Nursery leaders – Thursday 17th June, 1:30-3:30pm, via Zoom
HEP, working in partnership with the Just Imagine Story Centre, will order starter packs for each school participating in the RfP programme, at no cost to schools. More details will follow in the coming weeks.
The Reading for Pleasure PowerPoint used during the sessions can be accessed here.
