Develop your A level Teaching (DAT) is a HEP programme, updated annually, using members' feedback, via the DAT working group. HEP are grateful to colleagues from Chiswick, TGS, Reach, Gumley and Kingsley for their input via the working group to shape the 2024/25 DAT programme.

2024/25 programme

For 2024/25 DAT will focus on: Independent practice - How do we build resilience in students to elevate their independent practice, in turn boosting the depth, quality and accuracy?

These subjects will be available:
English Physics Economics
Maths Geography Politics
Biology History PE
Chemistry MFL
Meeting dates for 2024/25:
  • Meeting 1: Wednesday 27th November 2024 - in person, 4:30-6pm, venues tbc
  • Meeting 2: Wednesday 26th February 2025 - online, 4-5:30pm
  • Meeting 3: Wednesday 2nd July 2025 - in person, 4:30-6pm, venues tbc
Preparation

Prior to meeting 1 and 2 a pre-recorded keynote will be published onto the HEP YouTube channel for delegates to watch as a stimulus ahead of their subject based discussions. An agenda for that meeting will be consistent across all subjects and allow for:

  • Reflections on the keynote
  • Sharing of best practice
  • Opportunity for group planning

Groups have more autonomy over Meeting 3, and can devise an agenda following the exam period and looking ahead to the next academic year.

DAT facilitators

Expert practitioners are nominated by their SLT to facilitate the subject meetings.
