Adapting stories, books and texts using a multisensory approach
During this training, you will develop your understanding about what is a multisensory approach and how it can be incorporated into reading and literacy lessons. Sensory stories are a brilliant way of promoting a love of reading for pleasure for pupils with complex additional needs.
Aims
- To support delegates to build their confidence in creating and using sensory stories in their own setting.
- You will learn about the benefits of adapting stories, books and texts using a multisensory approach, and how it can support not only learners who may have sensory impairments, but all learners.
- The pupils who would benefit include SEN students in both primary and secondary settings, as well as early years students in mainstream settings.
