SUMMARY:Deep Dive and the Senior Leader – Session 1
DESCRIPTION:We were delighted with the positive feedback received from over 250 subject leaders across Hounslow schools following the delivery of nine cohorts of the three-session Deep Dive course in Spring 2021. \nIn response to this feedback we will be running this course in Autumn 2021\, specifically for senior leaders in primary schools. \nThis is a four-session course\nTarget audience: this course has been designed for a senior and subject leader from the same primary school where few or none of their subject leaders attended any of the Spring Term Deep Dive courses. \nAim\nThe aim of this course is to support a pair of leaders – one senior and one subject – to be able to deliver a school-based version of this course to subject leaders within their school.\nGiven the changes that occur naturally in primary schools at subject leader level\, our intention is that this course will enable subject leaders to deliver their own version or variation of this course based on the materials that HEP has commissioned. SUMMARY:Maths A Level Training – Session 3
DESCRIPTION:Delivered over three sessions\, this bespoke Maths training has been designed to improve subject knowledge and pedagogy of specific topics as identified by Heads of Department. DESCRIPTION:A Reading-for-Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools\nThese workshops are for teachers who have already registered for the full project. \nThis is the first of five sessions for Nursery/Early Years Leaders to plan for the training sessions. \nWhat is it?\n\n10 minutes – once a week ‘Contingent talk with a book’ sessions with a trained adult.\nA simple child- centred approach to language learning through talk contingent on the child’s interest based around a book chosen by the child.\nAt least a term’s commitment to providing ‘Contingent talk with a book’ to each child chosen for the programme.\nIt will also be an opportunity to identify colleagues who will be involved in the training sessions.\n\nImpact:\n\nShared reading has a positive impact in children’s language development.\nDialogic reading styles are more effective at boosting children’s language development than a simple\, storytelling narrative style.\nInterventions based on dialogic reading styles have a positive impact on children’s expressive vocabulary.\n\nGet Hounslow Reading schedule\n \nFor more information\, contact n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk
