On 1st March, the Technology Subject Network (thank you to Sarah McIntyre, St Marks for organising) invited Amanda Davighi to speak about the new Ofsted framework and deep dive preparation.
Amanda was the first AST in the country in 1998 and as a result she worked on the London Challenge, visiting schools throughout the capital focusing on school improvement. Amanda was a Design & Technology (D&T) Head of Department for 25 years, a Senior Teacher in charge of teaching and learning, and also the Subject Lead for D&T in the Hertfordshire alliance. Amanda is currently teaching at Dame Alice Owen's School in Hertfordshire and is still heavily involved in outreach.
The session was devised using feedback from schools who have recently (January 2022 and October 2021) been inspected and includes details pertinent to preparing for OFSTED as well as good practice in terms of department development and reviewing curriculum provision. The recording of this session is now available on the HEP Youtube channel and relevant to all curriculum leads/HODs in terms of Ofsted preparation.
