Free webinars – Tackling sexual abuse and harassment in schools –
HEP would like to share the following information about three free DfE twilight webinars, supported by the PSHE Association.
The 90-minute sessions take place at 4pm on:
- Wednesday 2nd March
- Wednesday 9th March
- Wednesday 16th March
It will cover:
- Domestic abuse
- Pornography
- Sexual exploitation
This includes advice on how schools can approach these issues through statutory RSHE content on the PSHE education curriculum, which the DfE says ‘provides an excellent vehicle to create a whole-school culture change and promote pupils’ safety and wellbeing’.
These events will provide an opportunity for PSHE leads and teachers, teaching assistants, designated safeguarding leads and SENCOs to hear from us, the DfE and other experts in the field including:
- Nicole Jacobs – the Domestic Abuse Commissioner
- Nanya Coles – Safe Young Lives Programme Lead at SafeLives, the domestic abuse charity
- Dr Elly Hanson – clinical psychologist and Fully Human research director
- Dr Helen Beckett – Director of the Safer Young Lives Research Centre at the University of Bedfordshire
