Secondary Subject Networks

Funding available to support Leads to deliver high quality network meetings –
The next Subject Network meeting for HEP Secondaries is on Tuesday 8th February, 4-6pm.
Leads are maximising the opportunity to begin face-to-face meetings where appropriate (while offering a virtual option to ensure inclusivity), and using that time to moderate and assess, widening participation to other teachers within their departments.
Here is a taster of what some networks will look like:
- Drama colleagues will have an expert in stage makeup deliver a session on bruise/wound makeup as well as provide a plethora of resources to use beyond that training. A separate session with an audition coach will assist HEP schools to better support students applying for fiercely contested places at Drama Schools as well as boost CEIAG and knowledge of those next steps.
- Maths colleagues have Robert Wilne (King’s College Maths School) delivering training on crossover topics between KS4/5 Maths. Robert has previously delivered Maths A level training to HEP schools and feedback from colleagues was exemplary.
- Art colleagues will focus on their collective experience to provide a session which supports less experienced colleagues and develops confidence in their knowledge of AQA/Edexcel standards and assessment for GCSE and A Level.
Thank you to those Leads for organising outside speakers, having ascertained what the specific needs are within HEP schools and accessing the funding available.
There is a budget available to all Leads to apply for in order to secure CPD, expert speakers and training for those within their network.
HEP is on hand to support the delivery, with any behind the scenes logistics to take the pressure off those Leads and boost the reach of that training.
